CHARACTERISTICS
This product is made from natural coral sand, aragonite and a bacterial culture. It is strongly recommended to use this ‘live sand’ instead of ordinary coral gravel because it improves biological and chemical equilibrium stability within the marine aquarium which is often difficult to achieve.

LIVE SAND ARAGONITE contains more than 10,000,000 heterotrophic, autotrophic and chemolithotrophic bacteria. It also contains essential elements for the marine life organisms. It also provides exceptional surface anchor capacity for bacteria: the surface area available is 1m2 for 3 cm2 of product! It removes nitrogen compounds (nitrite and ammonia) and partially removes phosphate and silicate. It is also a natural shelter for small marine worms and crustaceans essential for the life in the aquarium. It balances the water pH in the aquarium improving the biological equilibrium. Furthermore the bacterial start up in the new aquarium, or after a partial water replacing, is 5 times faster than with ordinary coral gravel.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The product contains calcium carbonate.
Composition at microscopic level: long crystals shaped like a semi-curved  pin. It increases the concentration  ratio of calcium/magnesium.

APPLICATION
•	It is recommended to use 1 Kg of sand for every 20 lt of water to create a sand layer of at least 5 cm.
•	Suitable for tropical marine aquarium fitted with powerful external filtration or under-gravel filter (these filtration systems are particularly indicated because they aerate well the sand obtaining the best performance).
•	After placing the sand on the bottom of the aquarium tank switch on the filtration system  and after one hour rinse the mechanical filter media (sponge and perlon wool).
